"The artistic interactions of Hanna and Leo`s B.A.S.S. Project find their very special expression in the mix of language, presentation and great music through our own backgrounds talents / abilities from all over the world, and end up for us artists and the audience in a very special experience. I believe that is Hanna and Leo`s secret too, to follow their intuition and to trust it, with great curiosity - without first knowing exactly where the journey will go. I am delighted to be back in the Bass Project and the Bass Art & Science Symposium because we are growing and every encounter will be an enrichment. I am sure about that. " Dennenesch ZoudĂ© actress "Dr Johanna Michel and Dr Leo-Hermann Schmidt invite us to break the boundaries between art and science, and we enthusiastically follow them, in the great radiant light, because we are either passionate scientists or rationally questioning artists - and more. Where some thought there would only be walls, we discover a free fertile landâ. Catherine De LĂ©an actress âHanna and Leoâs B.A.S.S: Art & Science Symposium is unlike any other âexpert meeting âor event - itâs an adventure. Itâs a space where scientists, musicians and artists from different cultural backgrounds meet to share their thoughts and emotions; to mingle to create an intensely dense and joyful atmosphere an inspiring atmosphere that lasts.â Dr. Rebekka Reinhard philosopher With warmth and dedication Dr. Johanna Michel and Dr. Hermann Schmidt alias Hanna and Leo Philipp presented a very memorable day. An afternoon full of extremely interesting lectures, which introduced us to our own human polarity. From medicine and science through to philosophy and on to arts. And all pointing out the mystery of âME, MYSELF and Iâ The day culminated in an inspiring concert where international musicians, singers and actors presented a huge variety of works from Leo Philipp Schmidt. An âinfectiousâ day but not in the usual medicinal definition of the world!! A project that gave much food for thought. Thank you Hanna and Leo Philipp for all your efforts Lindsay Rowe-Roberts I attended a delightful and very unique event in Mannheim/Germany this year in September that was designed and hosted by Hanna and Leo. They brought together a unique group of people from science and art and basically hosted two events within one - "two for one". And what âtwo for one" it was. Really interesting speakers in the science part from all over Europe and the rest of the world were discussing what the latest neuroscience can say about art and our aesthetics. Is our aesthetics nothing but the brain? All speakers rejected such simple reductionism - the brain is not isolated but part of the body and, even broader, part of the world within which the brain aligns and integrates. The concert in the evening playing music composed by Leo himself further integrated and aligned you to wonderful program by excellent musicians and other artists (I do not tell which arts...) which let your emotions fly sky high...Thank so much for a wonderful and very unique event! More is hopefully to come.... Prof. Dr. Georg Northoff University of Ottawa Leo my brother, creating the compositions has got a part of finding a soul in it that comes from inspirations in the form of nature, people, emotions, situations, relations and many other universal unknowns. Sometimes it comes like a lightning and form a characteristic in the form of composition, which the artists have to imbibe it in them to get the color it needed. The life cycle is intricate to get a good composition performed in absolute completeness. For you itâs a blessing to create compositions and the different characteristics it holds, which reflects on the artists who perform it as well. Wow!! Balu Rajendrakurups |
